Stephen J. Brown, an associate, has nearly a decade of experience supporting the intellectual property needs of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and chemical companies. He has represented a highly diverse client base ranging from major international and generic chemical and pharmaceutical corporations to universities and sole inventors. 

Mr. Brown has expertise in patent counseling and procurement. His practice encompasses domestic and foreign patent prosecution from drafting applications to advocating applications through issuance. He has significant experience preparing patentability, infringement, and validity opinions and has assisted clients in devising strategies to design-around issued patents.  He has also conducted patent due diligence investigations for clients involved in corporate mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Brown specializes in the field of chemical arts, especially in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and chemical industries. He has experience with procuring and investigating patents related to small molecules, polymer chemistry, chemical synthesis, nutraceuticals, pharmaceutical formulations, methods of drug administration, drug delivery devices, methods of treatment with pharmaceuticals, scents and flavors, cosmetics, hair and skin care products, and high intensity sweeteners compositions and delivery systems.

Prior to joining Lerner David, Mr. Brown was an associate with Bryan Cave in New York.
