Richard J. Botos is a partner in the Firm and he specializes in all aspects of intellectual property. Mr. Botos' practice has a particular emphasis in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, prosecution and defense of patent interference proceedings, patentability, infringement, right to use, and patent validity studies. He also has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting technology development and licensing agreements with particular emphasis on patent licensing agreements in the fields of integrated circuit devices and designs, optoelectronic devices (e.g., waveguides, lasers, optical amplifiers) and processes for their fabrication as well as communications technologies and the standards to which they relate (e.g. 802.11, CDMA/WCDMA/MPEG).
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Botos was employed as Intellectual Property Law Director for Agere Systems Inc., a spin-off of Lucent Technologies, Inc. where Mr. Botos was employed as Senior Patent Attorney/Corporate Counsel.
Mr. Botos is a 1986 graduate of the University of Denver School of Law where he served as an editor of the Denver Law Journal. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Nebraska. Mr. Botos is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. |
