Chip Humkey is an associate with the firm. Mr. Humkey practices in all aspects of intellectual property, focusing on patent prosecution, patent litigation, and trademark matters. His experience relates to preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications, particularly in the fields of biotechnology, medical devices, and other mechanical arts.

Mr. Humkey has developed experience analyzing and responding to Official Actions from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, as well as from other Patent Offices around the world. He has conducted numerous prior art searches at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office to determine patentability and right-to-use in a variety of technological fields. Mr. Humkey has been involved in counseling clients and providing opinions based on these searches and the review of the prosecution histories of issued patents.

Mr. Humkey worked as a summer associate with the firm in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Humkey participated in the Giles S. Rich Patent Moot Court Competition in 2005-06, and was a Student Attorney in the Intellectual Property and Transaction Clinic where he gained experience representing clients in trademark and copyright prosecution.
