Mitch Mehlman is an associate at the firm, with a practice that includes; prosecuting chemical, pharmaceutical, microelectronics packaging and mechanical patent applications; preparing patentability, infringement and patent validity studies; patent litigation before the International Trade Commission, and assisting clients across all areas of intellectual property law.

Prior to joining Lerner David, Mr. Mehlman gained five years of research and development experience in materials engineering, failure analysis, composite manufacturing, and polymer analysis with FMC Corp. In addition, Mr. Mehlman gained over ten years experience in advanced materials and process engineering, intellectual property management, and spacecraft manufacturing with Space Systems/Loral. Mr. Mehlman is the author of numerous technical papers and a co-inventor on U.S. Patent No. 6,261,716, Battery cell sleeve for spacecraft applications. Mr. Mehlman served as the President of the Northern California Chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE).

Mr. Mehlman is a graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center and Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
